Cyclone donations plea

THE Andover branch of the Rotary Club has appealed for donations to help those hit by the cyclone in Burma.

With the support of the Burma Embassy in London, 648 Rotary Shelterboxes have already reached the stricken country.

Visas have been obtained for four volunteers who have already flown out there to help with the difficult distribution of the vital aid, and a further 1,000 boxes will very shortly be en route.

A Rotary Shelterbox is a big, sturdy plastic chest containing essentials like a tent for 10 people. More boxes are urgently needed and donations to help fill them can be sent to the Rotary Club of Andover c/o The Quality Hotel, Micheldever Road Andover SP11 6LA.
